With Firefox OS, an $80 Smartphone Tries to Prove Its Worth | MIT Technology Review

I would really like to see some more competition in the mobile Market. Right now we really only have Android and iOS. Everything else is a minute fraction. Windows is becoming a more important fraction, one that even the big guys are taking design cues from, but its not really changing the market place. Hopefully groups like Mozillia can drive some innovation and change but I think they are going to have to try to bring out something that doesn’t just reach parity but rather disrupts. That being said copying Android but pushing support onto different devices such as various smart sensors, meters, maybe even cars might a good place to create some differentiation and market space.
